The Institute of Solomon Islands Accountants (ISIA) hereby notifies all employers including SIG, Diplomatic Missions, all Banks, SINPF, SOEs, Private Companies, international Projects, NGOs, Private Practitioners Regional Organizations, Churches, Media organizations, and anyone who has in their employment persons working as accountants, finance officers, clerks, book-keepers or cashiers, that all must be registered with ISIA.

This is a requirement of the Accountants Act 2010 and is different from the Financial Membership and the Public Practice License. The Act also provides that on registering the required fees must be paid.

You are all also informed that the said Act provides for penalties for non-compliance of 20,000 units or two years imprisonment.

Please also note interim fees are being applied and these are much lower therefore there is advantage in taking action now.

NOTE YOU ARE ILLEGALLY PRACTICING ACCOUNTING IF YOU DO NOT REGISTER. THE PENALTIES ARE NOT WORTH THE RISK.

As Part of the awareness, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Institute of Solomon Islands Accountants (ISIA) Mr. Peter Forau will be presenting on the SI Accountant 2010 on 3rd July at the IBS Hotel, starting at 5pm.

Non-Financial member: $ 200.00

Company CEO and CFO’s are encourage to attend so as to be aware of the obligation of their organizations to register their accounting and finance staff.
